Planning a destination wedding can feel confusing fast because every resort includes something different. Some packages include a private reception. Some only include the ceremony. Some events may be earned through your room block. And some “free wedding” packages are not exactly free once you start adding the things you actually want.

This is an estimate, not a formal quote. Pricing can change by resort, date, package, guest count, room block, and vendor pricing.

Are you looking for adults-only or family-friendly?

This helps narrow the resort options right away. Adults-only and family-friendly brands can price and package weddings differently.

Melissa’s note: For this estimator, it helps to pick one direction for now. If you know for sure there will be kids at your wedding because they are yours, in your immediate family, or super important to you, perfect. Choose family-friendly.

If you are sure you want adults-only, awesome. That is personally my favorite.

A little note from experience: if the only reason you are considering family-friendly is because you think certain friends or family members may want to bring their kids, I encourage you to ask them before making that decision. I have seen couples choose family-friendly because they were positive someone needed to bring their kids, only to find out later that those guests were perfectly happy to leave the kids at home anyway.

Melissa’s note: Guest count matters more than most couples realize. It can change which resort makes sense, which package is the best value, and whether you may qualify for private events through your room block.
